And then there were three...

Taryn Ann Creedon was born on September 10 at 4:15pm. Matt and I have so many emotions I won't even attempt putting them into words other than, we never thought we could love something this much.
One of our first pictures together..Mother and Daughter.

The labor and delivery nurse who was wonderful. Matt happened to go to school with her, small world!

Our beautiful little girl...

A quick outing to the pumpkin patch on our way home from the cabin. We ended up getting a pumpkin about 5 times bigger than Taryn!

Another one of the hundreds of photos we have of her already.

So the birth story...I had an appointment the 9th, just a regular check up. I was 2cm dilated and 100% effaced. My doctor stripped my membranes to help speed things up a bit. She said I could go anytime. With that in mind I went home from the appointment and proceeded to clean house and keep as busy as I could.
Around 9:30 that night I climbed into bed and started to watch Star Wars on tv. I noticed some of my contractions were twinged with a little pain which was unusal. Matt came in a few minutes later and I asked him to time them. They started to get pretty consistent and pretty painful. Finally I called labor and delivery and they told me to time them, and once they were 3-5 minutes apart for an hour to call them back. It did not take long. In fact they were 2-3 mintues apart consistenly in under an hour. Being that we were about 40 minutes from the hospital I wanted to be sure to get there in time. I called the hospital back and they told me to wait it out as long as I could at home. I waited about another 2 hours then told Matt, I Need to go in NOW. The contractions were so painful I didn't think I could stand it any longer.
So we loaded the car and headed out at midnight to SF to have our baby.
Once we got there I was admitted pretty quick. I then asked for an epidural asap. They had to do some blood tests and whatnot but then before I knew it Mr Wonderful was there. He administered my epidural, which took a while to kick in. My contractions were off the charts.
In the meantime both sets of grandparents showed up.
After the epi, it was pretty much a waiting game, a very long waiting game. Epidurals generally slow down labor which mine in fact did.
Long story short, I labored for about 17 hours. Pain free I might add..so I really didn't mind. I actually really enjoyed spending time with my family and taking little cat naps here and there waiting for my daughter to show up.
Finally after having to have to pitocin to help speed up my laboring process, it was time to push. They kept telling me I could be pushing for 3 hours! So I prepared myself for a long process. The nurse guided me through different positions to push. I couldn't really feel a whole lot since I was numb from the ribs down.
I pushed the best I could and low and behold 45 minutes later I had my beautiful daughter being handed to me. That had to be the most amazing thing ever in my life. Like I said, I really can't put it into words. It was instant love beyoned what I imagined. It's only grown more ever since.

I am going to end there because I am realllllly tired and I have to sleep while I can.
xoxo

John and I had just entered the Lafayette Bart Station after having worked the Giant's game. It was a little after 11:00 p.m. We got THE CALL that things were happening. We went home and waited to hear from Dana and Matt regarding leaving for the hospital. About an hour later, we got the call and left for San Francisco. It was a joyous time and I would not have missed it for anything. Seeing your daughter give birth and become a mother. Wow. Taryn picked her own birthday. Right between Tommy's and mine! Also three days before her due date. This girl knows what she wants. It was the best birthday present. It truly was love at first site.
