Baby Update

The minutes are ticking by...well at least to me they are! Everyday that arrives I think could this be the day?? I am having more contractions that are increasing in discomfort.
Yesterday I had my weekly appointment. I am 1cm dilated and 60% effaced. My doctor notices that as she's examining me I'm having another contraction.  She told me that she was going to have me do a "stress test", which is where they basically hook me up to a monitor to keep track of my contractions and the baby's heartrate. She also wanted to do a ultrasound to check the amnio fluid to make sure there was still plenty for the baby.
I was so excited to see the ultrasound. I haven't gotten to see her for so long so that was a real treat! So was getting to listen to her heartbeat. I could of sat there all day and listened to her. She's very healthy so the technician says. A normal heartrate is between 120-160. Well my daughter kept surpassing 160 but the tech said that's what they like to see (judging by the chart readout with it's peaks), it's basically the baby getting excited and saying WHEEEEEE! I thought that was cute. So after about 40 minutes they sent me home. They said I could go anytime which they said at my last appt, but I am progressing nicely. I am to track any contractions and keep an eye out for other signs of impending labor.
I was supposed to go to dinner with some girlfriends but decided to go home to rest. I did stop and get myself a frozen yogurt on the way home though :-)
